Paint your GitHub graph

Pick a design. We turn it into a tiny script of backdated commits. Run it, push, and it shows up on your profile.

1 Pick a design 2 Copy the script it makes 3 Run it & push to a new repo
Is this safe? What does the script do?

It creates empty commits (git commit --allow-empty) with backdated timestamps, inside a brand-new folder it makes itself. It never touches your existing repos, never rewrites history, never force-pushes. Delete the repo and the art is gone.

Will people see the commits themselves?

Only if the repo is public. Push to a private repo and turn on "Private contributions" in your profile's graph settings — visitors then see only green squares, with no repo name or commit details.

Why isn't my graph updating?

Usual causes: the commit email isn't verified on your GitHub account; the repo is private and "Private contributions" is off; or GitHub just hasn't indexed yet — give it a few minutes to a few hours. Also make sure you're looking at the right year on your profile.
